Can you recommend a tv show for me to watch?

I'm looking for a tv show to watch, mostly because most of the shows I watch are either not as good as they used to be, near the season finale, ended, cancelled or on a break. I would like it to be either Drama or Sci-Fi but I like procedural crime shows and comedies too. I want it to be funny, with a bit of romance(maybe a good love triangle) and a good looking male character. I like it when a show has a kind of smart *** or cocky character like Damon in The Vampire Diaries and Neal in White Collar. I would prefer if it was a current show but if it has ended or been cancelled and it is good I will watch it. I hate old style shows, set really far in the past, eg. shows with a medieval or western feel, so I want a modern show. If you can think of a few shows like this can you list them and tell me what they're about.

To give you an idea of the kinds of shows I like here are my top 10 favourite shows:

1. The Vampire Diaries (love the show and massive crush on Ian Sommerhalder/Damon)
2. Nikita (Brilliant show and major crush on Shane West/Michael)
3. White Collar (Just started watching about 2 weeks ago, watched the whole 2 seasons online, love it and Matt Bomer!!)
4. Supernatural (although it isn't as good as it used to be, love Jensen Ackles)
5. Pretty Little Liars
6. Chuck
7. Hawaii Five-0
8. Bones (again not as good as it used to be)
9. Buffy
10. Angel

Shows I already watch/ed:
Prison Break, Jericho, Wildfire, Buffy, Angel, Friends, Dark Angel, Misfits, Reaper, Privileged, Joey, Charmed, Missing, 90210, Runaway, Flash Forward, Moonlight, Ghost Whisperer, House, Criminal Minds

Shows I used to watch but got bored of or just don't watch anymore:
Desperate Housewives, Heroes, Lost, CSI: NY & CSI: Miami, Law and Order: SVU, Dexter, Being Human(US),

I definitely don't want to watch Glee and I have no interest in watching Fringe or True Blood (I tried but couldn't stand it- sorry if you're a fan)

Also, I have heard that these shows are good, if you watch any of them can you explain to me what they're about and if they're any good:
NCIS, Rescue Me, 24, Castle, Leverage, Breaking Bad, Hot in Cleveland, Gossip Girl, One Tree Hill, The OC, Hellcats, The Mentalist, Alias

I know I've severely limited your choices, but I would really like some suggestions.

These are british shows but have you checked out torchwood or doctor who? dollhouse is an american show that I really liked.firefly too. They are produced by joss whedon, he also did the buffy series.

sounds like you just like shows with "hot guys" in them... find out who people magazine voted sexiest dudes of the year and see what shows theyre on....that way youre guaranteed to enjoy every show you watch

veronica mars has everything your looking for. its a drama/crime (sort of),comedy with romance. lots of hot male characters. one of the main characters logan is extremely cocky, but you'll get use to him. jason dohring plays the character of logan if you want to look him up.
there's also duncan kane played by teddy dunn.
watch the pilot and tell me what you think about the show. it got cancelled after three season, but i promise you this is the show your looking for.

Since you don't mind watching shows that no longer air, I'd suggest Pushing Daisies (quirky, funny show with a bit of romance about a guy who can bring things back to life just by touching them) and Dead Like Me (a girl dies, but comes back as a very different type of "grim reaper". This one is kind of funny, but has a good bit of depth to it as well). Also, if you don't mind British shows, Misfits is very good. It's another one of those "people magically gain superpowers" type shows, but it's much... um, more *mature* than most. It's got some really lovely characters as well. You can watch all the episodes for that on youtube.

I was also gonna suggest Doctor Who, but someone beat me to it.

EDIT: Actually, I just saw what goodgriefmother recommended and I definitely second that. Veronica Mars is amazing!! A perfect suggestion for what you're looking for. :)
