they could always say they`ve run out of petrol...
They would be charged with obstructing a public highway, this is the reason the lorry drivers had a rolling roadblock, as long as they moved, albeit slowly they could not be charged with obstruction, so driving along at 5 or 10 miles an hour spread across all lanes would more effective and difficult to tackle!

they dont have to block it, they can drive at a crawl and nowt the police can do about it,

a protest is a protest either way, either way it aint gonna make a dam bit difference to the greedy bastard goverment.

Maybe he is taking a leaf out the thugs book here. Our senseless little mutards line the roads with burning tires and then stand a distance away with their Molotov cocktails at the ready to hurl at anyone trying to move them.

Trying to drive safely through a barrage of burning tires being thrown at the road requires F1 driving skills to say the least so people stop and wait it out. Some times for hours on end....

And the little darlings protesting so peacefully, (their description) don't get arrested. Or if they do, their families call the BBC World Service , CNN etc and claim police brutality.

So you see Britain does not have the sole rights to people getting away with things!

And yes he can!

They just drive very slowly in all three lanes, the traffic behind them eventually stops dead..

Can you settle an argument for me?

A friend of a friend is a very nervous driver. She was not used to motorways so was going round the M25 doing approx 40 50 mph. The police pulled her over as and told her that if she did not speed up then she would have to leave the motorway as she was causing a hazard to other road users. According to those Police Officers, going slow on a motorway is a hazard and is therefore illegal.

Well normally its not a good idea to plss-off a soldier who's on duty doing a civilian job, in this case though as he's being used to drive a tanker the farmer should be OK.
They don't mess about soldiers, if a soldier is under orders to get from A to B and your purposely blocking his way, LOOK OUT.

And yes it is illegal to purposely block a road any road with out just cause, and sympathy for a strike is not a just cause, its illegal.
