I have a girlfriend from my home country (Philippines) and planning to get her to live with me here in Canada. I'm 20 years old and currently working but gonna be starting in college on September 2012. Its been 2 years since I got here in Canada with my family as a permanent resident as my father petitioned us.
My girlfriend and I have been in a relationship for almost 5 years now. So basically its been two years of having a long distance relationship. Up until now, we haven't visit each other because it would cost a lot of money to us and I cant take a leave in my job. But our relationship is still growing and getting stronger I would say with just phone calls and Skype communication. We also do text each other a lot.
Is it possible for me to sponsor her as a conjugal partner and live with her here in Canada? If so, how? Or should we get married first to go live with each other here in Canada? If we were going to get married, Is there a best way to do that, that would help her to be here as fast as possible? Should I go back to my home country, marry her there then apply for common-law partner? Then after we got married, is it necessary for us to live together in our home country for a certain period of time? If so, how long? Or when we got married, would that be easy (fast) for me to get her here in Canada? What can I do to make it possible to bring her here in Canada to live with me without prohibiting getting a job or studying!
If someone had any experience about this or has knowledge to explain things to me base on my situation, suggest what I can do, I would really appreciate it with all my heart!!
Please help! I have not enough knowledge about this immigration thing! And I wanna make sure what is the best thing to do to make it possible! Thanks in advance!!!
