Charged with false rape but not convicted? UK only please?

Postby jan46 » Sat Jul 28, 2012 2:18 pm

Hello I am asking this question again because in my previous I did not add I live in UK.
I live in UK so please only talk about UK laws.
Thank you :D

when I was 17 I had a 6 months relationship with this girl and she cheated on me and falsely accused me of rape. I was charged with the case even though my lawyer said I should should not had been charged because of the stupid evidence. while in court some evidence came to light like the day she accused me of raping her she was not even at home, she was at doctors. she also lied many time during her interview. anyway I was found innocent quickly by the jury. I am wondering how bad is it that I been charged? do I have a criminal record?I want a career such as pharmacy and perhaps medicine, they check for criminal record; does that mean they will reject me for had been charged with rape?
I live in UK and was charged and went to court in UK

If you are cleared of any wrongdoing and you have a written evidence of being cleared, then it shouldnt be a problem. Though when filling in the criminal history part, do write that you were wrongly convicted and cleared later (proof available) etc. hope that helps.

If it really does effect your studies to a point where you cant get a job or anything coz of it, you should just go and rape that ba5tard for doing that to you!

Don't worry, continue pursuing your goals. If you display an improvement academically, they will definitely accept you. I mean you were not guilty in this case, so it shouldn't play a enormous role on whether they will accept you or not. Good Luck!

I think if you stand trial and are found guilty/ not guilty then yes it makes it harder when applying for jobs where you work with the general public. I think u can still study your chosen course... I also think convictions clear after a certain number of years.. I don't know how it is if you have to do time in prison. Good luck!

My email address is [email protected] if u want more info;)

You were acquitted of this offence and therefore have a clean record. This should not appear on your enhanced CRB. There is, however, a risk that it might do so. http://www.panopticonblog.com/2011/01/13/enhanced-crb-checks-yet-again/
