This only applies if the child is not working on their own parent's farm.
Ages 14 - 15:
= 3 hour limit on employment of a child during “school hours” (refers to the hours that the local public school where the minor resides while employed is in session.) So it is 18 hours in a school week.
= 8 hours on a non-school day. So, 40 hours in non-school week.
= Employers must use the same “week” (168 hour period) for determining compliance with the child labor provisions as it uses for determining if other employees are due overtime.
Ages 16 - 18:
= Any day, any time of day, and for any number of hours.
