Margie - Only employers can set work rules, so there is nothing the law can do about this situation. If you are paid for all of the time you work but are subject to disciplinary rules, the Department of Labor cannot be of assistance. The rules sound like an attempt to avoid wage and hour violations, but they also seem a bit extreme. I'm sorry if that is what you have to deal with at your place of employment.
