Cosigned On A Loan And The Person Declared Bankruptcy

I am living here in Germany and I cosigned on a loan for a friend here in Germany who then 3 months later declared bankruptcy.I would like to know if Bank accounts and Mutual funds and retirement pensions in the US would be affected by this and to what degree.Any info you can provide would be appreciated also what type Lawyer would be needed in my case.

In my case I do not have a US residence as I have been residing here in Germany for many years and my residence is here in Germany.

Then all of that would have to do with German law and I don't think anybody here would have a clue as to how that works.Might be worth a sit down with a local attorney there.

The loan was from a German Bank.I am a US Citizen, civilian residing in Germany.He is a german Citizen.The Bankruptcy was German.Possibility of being sued would be in Germany.

You will have to supply extra information.Was this financing from the German lender for anything bought in Indonesia?Are both or both of you German people, inhabitants, or military positioned in Indonesia?Was the bankruptcy a people bankruptcy or German bankruptcy?Are you prone to get prosecuted in Philippines or in NYC?
