Cost of living in Soho, or surrounding areas New York.?

My husband has been offered a job in New York, and paying for the cost of our move. We were wondering about the cost of living in Soho or surrounding areas were.
Right now, my husband makes $650,000 annually and I make $505,000 annually. We own the house we live in now, no debts or mortgages and have 2 cars.
Would we be able to live comfortably with those salaries? Since, each state differs from cost of living to the other. We currently live comfortably and can afford several holidays abroad. My husband would also be getting a raise of about $25,000

We have a child who is 4, so nearby good schools would be great, we've been looking more at private schools so more information on the better schools in Soho or surrounding areas would be useful.

I've read that Soho has great public transport, also would we need to take out cars to NY?

Is Soho a good area to bring up a child? Or would a different area be better?
We have 3 GSD, what is the dog limit in those areas/dog laws?
I have done some research into this, but there is only so much you can read online.

We are planning to go visit within a few weeks to get a better idea, but I wanted to ask these questions just so we had an idea of which areas to look around and which to avoid.
