Postby curran » Sun Apr 03, 2011 7:25 am

Could it be considered libel/slander if i told my friend in my home country that i had sex with this one person here in my current country, now if my friend in my home country were to ask the person i claimed to have sex with over mail if it was true.. could i possibly have a defamation lawsuit on me?

or would a lawyer not accept the case? (this is in arizona btw)(and we are all 17)

Making a false statement to the effect that someone is not of chaste character can be slanderous, but in the u.s. the person must suffer tangible financial harm as a consequence in order to have a valid claim.
Lawyers work for profit. If there is no profit it in, due to no damages, then most lawyers will not take the case unless they are payed by the hour, win or lose. As children cannot sue or be sued in their own name, I see little likelihood of anyone ever agreeing to take the case.
