Even today, many organizations want HR people with a knowledge of law. If that interests you, you could consider doing a law degree from a university close to your location.
HR people also need good analytical & computer skills. If that is not covered in your course or if you find yourself needing to improve yourself in that, you could join courses in that.
These are the thoughts I have to offer at this stage.
