Did I misunderstand the signs? What should I do next?

Postby talbot » Sun Jul 29, 2012 5:31 pm

he has shown me too many signs of him liking me, such as:
- going out of his way to smile and say hi/ bye to me
- wait for me after class for more than 20 minutes
- willing to teach me whenever I ask him to
- anxiously looks for me for more than half an hour when he doesn't see me (and when we have an arrangement to meet)
- volunteer to meet me in a cold stormy day for a few minutes
- his hands trembled when he was teaching me for the first time
- he was really nervous when he talked to me for the first few times

I told him that I won't have the same class with him and that I really like him and thanked him for all his help. He told me that he hope I don't become too much of a stranger around campus. I texted him a few weeks after that conversation to ask him how's his vacation, and he didn't reply.

I know he is really shy and not very good at expressing his feelings. But...can a guy be so shy that he won't take any action or say anything even when the girl he likes already told him that she really likes him? Did I misunderstand the signs? Or...is he possibly gay? What should I do next?

He could be gay, but if it was me I would consult him about your feelings ask his friends to find out if he likes you too ask him on a date like to the cinema

He might be gay but I don't think you missed the signals, its just possible he only see's you as a friend or perhaps he doesn't realize how much you like him? I suggest you make contact again and don't be afraid to tell him how you feel.

No, he definitely likes you, and he seems pretty sweet too.
Yes, a guy can be so shy that he won't take any action.

Try to arrange plans to hang out, see how he acts, and if he's the same way, he still likes you.
Give him a hug and kiss him on the cheek as you're about to leave.

Sometimes when you're dealing with a shy guy, you have to act first.
It's frustrating, but he'll get comfortable with you after he's very sure that you like him.
