Did President Obama merely step in to try and save Arizona from collapsing because of SB1070?

Postby nemausus36 » Thu Mar 31, 2011 10:13 am

Critics of President Obama say that he so-called doesn't want immigration laws enforced, but if we step back for second and look at all the negative effects from SB1070 like the cost to the tax payer, the losses to the economy and the violence it has sparked, was he merely stepping in to save Arizona from collapsing from the negative effects of Arizona's new immigration law SB1070?

Yes. Your examples are just a tip of the iceberg. There are a lot more negative effects from this law, but some people tend to ignore that. Why? who knows.

SB1070 has even affected their housing market.

-===================
Did SB1070 affect July housing numbers?

Ruff says home prices fell on average around $2,000, sales declined about 26 percent from the previous year and the number of foreclosure notices went up about 33 percent.

"I think there has been an exodus, we just don't know how large it is," he said.

In predominantly Hispanic neighborhoods, Ruff said there was an increase in the number of active listings.

"We can draw the conclusion that SB1070 is having a negative impact on Arizona," Ruff said.

since he is a liberal, I'm sure he tells himself that everything he does is for the good of whoever he is doing it to. The fact remains that the federal government has not been enforcing immigration laws for a long time and it got to the point where we had almost half a million illegals here in Arizona. The negative financial aspects of this offsets the potential costs due to our new immigration law and no one (not even Obama) knows which way the two will finally balance out

This is the best question I've read on here so far. Yes! Pres Obama looked at what the law was doing to Arizona before it even became a law, and especially the racial divide, so he stepped in to help. But looks like Arizona doesn't care about their own state because they filled and want to go to court against his ruling.

Actually, he sued a state for trying to remove illegal aliens. You can couch it in whatever deceptive terms you want, but that is what happened.

BO is suppose to up hold the laws of this country. He should be in the border states all in. He shows a lack of protection for this country because he is not backing the states. It is just not mxs we do not know who is coming in.

Arizona just doesn't realize how detrimental this law is for them, and they happily cheer as their state go's downhill. They should just change their motto to, "Hating Brown People Since 2010, and Loving It!"

Yes because unlike Republicans in Arizona, President Obama actually cares about ALL Americans in the USA.

OMG! and why do people in Arizona support trashing their own state? The Republicans really know how to brain wash the retired folks with their fear mongering.

Yes. I guess Republicans don't care about violence escalating towards latinos.
