Do I need a Liquor License?

Postby tredway » Thu Mar 31, 2011 2:46 pm

Alright I am currently looking into renting or leasing a commercial property to use for my artist studio. Now I was planning on hosting a gallery night maybe say once or twice a month. With this said I would try to attempt to have a flat rate fee to enter the event. Would I need a liquor license to give beer out to those who are of age?

Along with this would I be restricted to say having a beer while just at my studio in general? Say while simply working on my art and not having an event? Where can I find more out about commercial property laws in colorado?

No, a liquor license is so you can serve liquor. That's why a lot of places only sell beer because they don't want to pay that fee.

Liquor laws vary greatly by state, and sometimes even by city. You'd need to call the LOCAL licensing board and ask them what the laws are in your specific location.
