Yes.

In his 2008 documentary, John Ziegler illustrated how a dozen people could not accurately state which party controlled Congress or identify the Speaker of the House and the Senate Majority leader, among other things, but were a wealth of knowledge about how much Sarah Palin's wardrobe cost, her pregnant teenage daughter, and were willing to attribute all other questions with negative connotations to her.

It's been proven that many, if not most, people favor confirming bias over facts and evidence. That's why many "news" channels today are based off spin and political polarization, not facts and neutrality.
