Do you have a school year do do school year around for your homeschool?

I am planning and ordering for fall. We homeschool starting in August and go until anywhere between May and July depending how many breaks we take over the winter. I like to give at least a full month off in the summer. So I guess we are a hybrid between strict schedule and year around? What about you? I'm curious what other homeschool families do. Also, does your state law regulate how many days or hours you must do school? Mine doesn't.

Year-round, because we tend to take a lot of impromptu days off and "mini-vacations" (grandma visits, really) that last a week or two at a time.
