Do you support a new Montana bill that prevents illegals from getting workers compensation as illegals?

Sorry Libs but your illegals get hurt doing jobs they are illegally doing they no longer can get workers comp!

H.B. 71 in Montana is called An Act Providing that Certain Illegal Aliens are Not Entitled to Workers' Compensation Wage-Loss and Medical Benefits for a Work-related Injury or Disease. It was the subject of a hearing before a legislative committee in January.

"It basically says if you are applying for benefits and the defense is that you are not qualified to receive them because you are an illegal alien, you must prove you actually are qualified. In other words, you were not an illegal alien when you were injured," said attorney Jim Pocius, a shareholder with Marshall, Dennehey, Warner, Coleman & Goggin in Philadelphia. "It puts the burden of proof on the individual rather than the employer or insurer. They've taken any responsibility away from the employer to check on the status of the worker before they hire him."

I think it makes a lot of sense. That being said, I would take it one step further: if a company makes that allegation in order to avoid paying W/C, I would fine it a few hundred thousand for knowingly hiring the illegal in the first place.

It should be a two for one with the employer also getting penalized for not clearly following the law by hiring cheap labor and not using back ground checks on future employees. Also a hispanic looking person would be the only ones having to be scrutinized in order to qualify for benefits. The Caucasian looking illegals from Europe and elsewhere will get a free ride, how sweet!

I would definitely support that bill but I would make the company that hired them financially responsible for the medical bills incurred by the illegal alien.

Then they'll just turn to crime. How about you get to the root of the problem and fine those who are doing the hiring in the first place? You know why? Businesses want the cheap labor.

I support preventing illegals from getting any benefits. But that was overturned in California, they get the government they deserve.

The devil is in the details, but I think so. The thing is that I am pretty certain that they were not eligible to begin with where I live.
