Does anyone know how to become a lego engineer?

im about to start my 2nd year of college as an international business major. and while i dont mind business, my true love was engineering and architecture. i would have tried to become one, but my school didnt offer it and usually, only big schools only have engineering and i dont want to go to one. but since i was little, i loved working with legos and was good at it. the stuff i created ranged from ships, cars/vehicles and to animals and robots. but i dont know how to become one. i mean is it something that virtually anyone can do? i remember a story on the news where a lawyer quit his job and became a lego artist. but as i can imagine, lego would want people who are highly qualified. and while i wouldnt have an engineering or design/art background, im extremely creative and good at stuff like puzzles and logic. what do you think?
