Most WWII vets despise the fact that the japs "Have the audacity" to put this memorial (so called) on ground where Americans shed blood and many lives were lost while we took back Attu, after the japs invaded it, killed residents, and STOLE ATTU!!! Bill Jones, a WWII VET and survivor of many campaigns in the Pacific against the japs had begun a drive to have that thing TAKEN OFF ATTU. I believe Bill, like most WWII vets, has passed away. I've heard that others have carried on Bill's efforts but I can't seem to find out how to help. If anyone knows how I can help rid this country of this thinly guised 'memorial' let me know. Most people may not even know about Attu but, like all the battles against the japs, it was ugly. The japs main objective was to dominate the world and they caused one hell of a mess trying. Sadly, it hasbecome almost taboo to criticize or voice one's disgust with all the cowardly, underhanded, vile, evil, murderous, torturous, acts committed by the japs against THE USA. Now, because of the greedy needs of some, they have moved into this country. You may think the war with japan is over but it is NOT! WAKE UP! They lied then and they are still lying. Ex: japs knew it was not safe to build Nuclear Plants on that shakey island, yet they, the jap govt., told their own people it was safe. It is now being termed a "manmade mistake". Guess where all that crap that was swept into the Pacific Ocean is washing up? OUR COASTLINES! Who will pay for the cleanup? Anyways, I would like nothing more than to see that 'memorial' off our soil. Talk about disrespect!!

What about putting a large sign over the memorial saying "Grave Yard of Japan" ??
