I'm not sure if it matters where you work or not but I work retail on the sales floor and my manager just told me yesterday that you do not get a 15 minute break if you only work 4 hours, that you have to work over 4 hours for a 15 minute break and over 5 for a 30 minute lunch. has the laws changed because i thought you get a break for 2 hours or more and a lunch after 4 hours. if you do not know can you at least get me the labor law link please. thanks

Neither federal nor the state of Michigan's laws require an employer to ever give adult employees any break(s) at all. If a break policy is not part of a contract, either with you or your labor union, the employer is free to set any policy, and change it at any time.

you thought very wrong

breaks every two hours means your lazy butt is on break more than your working get real

michagan has no break or meal laws for over 18 workers

http://www.dol.gov/whd/state/rest.htm#Michigan

most states suggest a 10 minute break after 4 hours of work that is paid
and 30 minutes unpaid for a meal after 8 hours of work

if your scheduled for 6 hours your only entitled to the 10 minute break

your employer is required by federal labor laws to have federal laws posted in your place of employment look for them and it will answer your question
