Does my wife need to provide a copy of my previous marriage certificate to her U.S Embassy visa interview?

Postby tiernan » Tue Mar 06, 2012 8:36 am

I was previously married 18 years ago and it was brought to my attention that my current wife for whom I am filing a spouse visa for may need to provide an original copy of my previous marriage certificate to her visa interview at the embassy. I have copies of my divorce papers which are from 2001 but was not able to locate my original marriage certificate as it was in war torn Yemen in 1994. Can any with immigration law knowledge help me, is this really a requirement?
