i have read a little of the elegant universe, i now very little about physics, and from what i got was that everything is made os strings and these are the fundamental particles of the universe and the vibration of these string gives every atom and particle its property. And from what i got from the higgs boson particle was the same thing. there's a higgs field and this particle created a drag in this field which gives things there properties?? have i got it right. please correct me if im wrong im really fascinated by it.

No. We still need a proven Theory of Everything uniting QM and General Relativity. A theory of quantum gravity and proof of the existence of the graviton.

Proof of the Higgs Mechanism just adds support for the Standard Model which does not unify QM and GR.

A brief overview:

The particle excaping our universe is a graviton
