Postby darrell » Tue Jul 24, 2012 9:40 pm

So he had surgery for carpal tunnel syndrome may 31 and he is back on the job making pallets using a heavy air gun he wants a different doctor because he thinks that that doctor since he is from the company he just wants him back to work and can he go to any doctor and does workers comp cover any doctor..he was hurt in the job and sent to a doctor ge did surgery and he sent my dad to OT therapy and was released on full duty July 16 but his hand and arm still bother him I called his insurance and they said WE WILL NOT willingly pay for his other doctor..does this mean it's lawyer time???and they also said that since that doctor did his surgery he should go back with him now. But he has been released what can we do in this case?

Yes, you have no obligation to use a company doctor. Keep in mind that the company doctor only represents the company's best interest, not yours. It may be time to lawyer up.

Good luck

First off. Workers Comp is time off. It has nothing to do with the medical field. That would be your insurance company and doctor. Carpal Tunnel is not an injury, is it a condition or disease. Has he tried using his other hand? That is what my hubby did. He learned to be ambidextrous. He is fine now, and still can use either hand when necessary. Sure, lawyer up. That's what most people do when they just want money they don't deserve.
