Drinking water on working site?

Postby thacher » Sun Jul 29, 2012 1:42 pm

I am going to work in a big site, which hires other companies to provide more staff is needed - and this is my case. I am going to work on such a big venue as an employee of an agency that has the contract with this big venue.
I am interested in who has to provide drinking water to us? Is it our agency or the venue?
By law - does this mean that if they give there a vending machine to pay for the water - is this it or does the water have to be accessible for free?

Drinking water on working site?

the type of work has a great deal of influence over what is required

without knowing the type of industry you are asking about, all i can do is generalize my answer in return

in general, employers are not required to provide access to anything apart from a safe workplace or to mitigate any dangers to the extent possible. most employers will supply access to rest room facilities and some refreshment but are not required to supply the refreshment as a benefit - ie for free.

based on what you wrote, the company staffing the venue contracted with the company needing workers for the venue. so the answer of who is required to provide anything lies in the contract between the company needing workers and the company providing workers.

They don't have to give anything for free.
