It's probably fake. The FBI doesn't notify people that they are onto them. Scare tactic, maybe, but unlikely. Think about it. If you were law enforcement, would you tell somebody that they were a person of interest over the internet? The person might flee no matter the age. I highly suspect that someone is messing with you. See if it happens again.
If it is a fake, the person or persons are in real trouble because they impersonated a federal agent or used a computer to do so. That's a felony at least.
If it's for real, don't fret. You didn't do anything wrong from your description.
The reason I think it's fake is that I've yet to meet someone that was given such a notice. You never know, but it may be something of volatile content on your facebook. If you're really worried, do the research. Call the FBI and ask them. It's better to put your best foot forward than sit there and worry about it. That way, you know exactly what the deal is. A simple phone call, done.
If you can't do that for whatever reason, keep a record of any transaction. You should know that anyone can send an email or other transaction that looks like it came from somebody else. As an example, if I wanted to, I could send you an email that looked like it came from Saddam Hussein even though he's long dead.
