Fedral Skilled Worker(wife's Education Points)

Postby Cale » Sat Jun 28, 2014 6:25 am

My spouse has completed 12 years secondary school education; afterwards she has done two years distance learning university degree in obtaining 41% marks. Third division obtain marks status and distance learning for two years university degree will affect her points what I can get for her in Federal skill worker immigration? In short, how many points I will get in this category considering her third division(41%) marks obtained and distance learning degree for two years.

ANSWER: Dear Abid,

Your spouse may get 4 points for her education if her documents prove she has successfully completed a recognized two-year university degree program AND has 14 years of education(12 years of high school plus 2 years of university).

Thanks for the reply. Can you send me any proof from Canada Immigration for the same. Because on non of the Website I found the detailed information about spouse's education for the Federal Skilled worker. Another question is about IELTS, Should we submit always the latest result of IELTS or we can submit any best available result of IELTS which in not older than one year.Becuase my latest result has less band score and one month old test result of IELTS has good score, Can I still submit old test result, where I have scored good band score?

Cale

Dear Abid,

Here is the link to the Immigration Canada guide to applying in the federal skilled worker category(points for spouse's education is explained at Factor 6):http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/guides/EG72.asp

Always submit the best IELTS results. The only restriction is that Immigration Canada will not accept IELTS results that are more than a year old at the time the application was received by the Centralized Intake Office in Sydney, Nova Scotia(Canada).

If your application is deemed eligible under the federal skilled worker program, you will be informed of this and told that you have 6 months to submit all of your documents. This means if you think you can or need to get a better IELTS score, it may be worth doing the test again.

Good luck,
