Is there a maximum amount of time a previous landlord can take to pay back your deposit?

We know she is giving the whole thing back, everything has been fine. but we moved out September 18th and still havent gotten our money?

She said she has to send it to some company in texas and then they forward the check to our new address we waited until a little over a month and called she cancelled payment and did a re-issuance of payment now here we are at December 3rd- still no money?? Tried contacting her today but was unsuccessful will try again tomorrow...

it has to be returned within 30 days or a detailed explanation why it wasn't, the only recourse you have is small claims court
