Georgia vs Other States Termination Laws.?

Postby rushford79 » Wed Dec 21, 2011 9:17 am

If Georgia has a defined termination laws as opposed to say California, why does it take so long for corporations to fire employees that are poor performers. I speaking of employees really doing nothing and below the bare minimum. This is puzzling to me. Any thoughts?

Georgia vs Other States Termination Laws.?

I know what you mean. I think it is to have all the paperwork and proof before firing them. It stops them from getting unemployment when the company can prove the reason. That said Georgia is an at will state and they can fire at any time for any reason. All states except for Montana have this. This is with the exception of workers with a contract or union protection.

Seems as if some elementary studying of said law should answer your query.
