Good Grief, just acid flush the system, rinse with the neutralizer, refill with new Dex and get on with life. All chemicals are available from the dealer, will take a few hours. Problem solved.

Gm/dexcool lawsuit??

this lawsuit has been ongoing for years and years. I don't think much will come of it. It has to do with extended life coolant, pink or orange stuff that come standard in all GM automobiles.

Gm/dexcool lawsuit??

There is still debate if it is the coolant or if it is the intake gasket. I think it is the intake gasket and GM has now come out with a modified version, but Fel-Pro makes nice cork gaskets that typically take care of this problem. It is also a known fact that Dex-Cool doesn't like to get too low and have air in the system. This is usually doe to either the intake gasket or the radiator cap. Going back to inferior green coolant isn't the answer either. You can safely use G-05 which Ford and Chrysler now use in a GM and be safe assuming you flush your system out well with distilled water and chemical cleaners then flush the cleaners out with distilled water.

Gm/dexcool lawsuit??

All I can tell you is that I recieved a letter today in the mail. I was not even aware there was a problem. However, the is a website to checkout. It is modexcool.com it is concerning the cas in jackson county, mo.

I have had nothing but problems from mine, you shouldn't have to change the coolant every year in these cars. Yes, you should check the levels but they are stated to be compatible for 3-5 years. My car has sludge in the sysytem, using oil, Knocking in the engine, and the manifold gasket is now failing.

My advice is one of two, contact a lawyer if you have the means or get rid of it. Unfortantley, I currently don't have the means for either. I have yet to find any situation on the web where gm has fixed cars with this problem.

Also you can do as some suggest and replace the coolant with new dex, but if the dex is the problem sooner or later it is still going to eat up your car that you have spent your hardwork trying to pay for.
