Good ways to support men's rights?

Postby jabin20 » Mon Jul 09, 2012 2:16 am

I never believed all guys were pigs/rapists/criminals/etc. I don't like laws that take half a guy's stuff if his ex-wife is capable of making her own darn money. I'm glad I can have a job and vote, but the more I read the more I think the women's movement has gone too far. All I want is:
1) to make money so I can pay for food/shelter/etc. WITHOUT a man being exploited/disadvantaged in order for me to have it
2) to make sure my brother isn't taken for a ride by a heartless, man-hating harpy

What can I do to help make things better?

Fight to reverse sexist laws that discriminate based on gender.

Overall, that's good for everyone, not just men.

1) Well....you can't really know who's being exploited/disadvantaged because you have a job that earns you money. In all reality, it's a cut throat world and YOU are definitely being disadvantaged by both a man AND a woman somewhere in the world (we all are) so don't go turning down jobs because you know you're getting it because you're a woman (but hey, if you're that self-sabotaging, go ahead).

2) I guess you could....try to warn him if you see signs of a "heartless man-hating harpy" taking him for a ride? You can't always control what happens.

I'm not a feminist by the way!

Have the roles more defined again so it's fine to be male, and promote masculinity more. Too much emphasis is based on females now so that men have no say or rights.

Show your boobs, then you're giving them a right.

Start informing young women and girls what the word RAPE actually means.

Kinda sad how many people don't know what it means.

I like Lucifers answer, to add, also what actually is sexual harrassment, and what is not.

You could also donate to prostate cancer research.

1) You know that twitter hashtag #firstworldproblems? Haha, this is one of them sweetheart. The vast majority of things you buy? Someone was exploited making them or gathering the materials for them - by receiving barely any pay for the work, and living in terrible conditions. and not really having a choice one way or another about it (unless you consider starving to death a choice).
Lucky for you, the vast majority of factory workers in poor countries are teenage girls (cheapest to pay salary for). So no worries on exploiting men in that sector! Of course, when we start to get to who picks that delicious fruit you eat, then...

2) Join an organization, write to your senator, raise funds and raise awareness. That is about all you can do. And there are so many problems in this world, that social issues tend to come behind things like the economy. It is what it is.
