Guardian Ad Litem Investigation

Postby Carwyn » Wed Jul 02, 2014 4:17 pm

Hi,

I received a report from the guardian ad litem working on my child custody case. In it, there are numerous things about other party that must improve as recommended. I cannot find anything that I need to change. In fact, it appears the GAL finds my parenting MUCH better. Nonetheless, the GAL recommends custody remain with other parent because I was "not available to make doctor appointments and school issues and the like." I live 300 miles away, and I have an ex who does whatever it takes to ensure I have zero contact with my children, and I'm persona non grata with their schools.

The law says "best interests", but what I see is "Never mind that. Keep them with the mother!"

How can this be legal? And what, if anything, can be done about it?

Thank you in advance.

Sincerely,

Really Confused

Guardian Ad Litem Investigation

Hi Wade, the guardian ad litem report is a recommendation if there are facts within the report that are inaccurate or are given more weight by the guardian ad litem than case law would allow then those deficiencies should be pointed out and argued before the court at the time of the final hearing. I hope this information was helpful to you, if it was, please do me the courtesy of rating it.
