Has any one ever written a short book?

Postby ardwyad » Mon Mar 19, 2012 5:16 am

I have always done well in writing classes and I often day dream realistic adventures, but I have never put this into an action more than that. Now, I think I might want to try it. It will not be mass produced because it is just for fun and I have a job but if anyone has any tips, that would be splendid. P.S. I realize there are probably a lot of grammatical errors ^ so please don't hate on that, I have been out of school for a few years and am a bit rusty. Thank you,
Sincerely a Man trying to have a little fun

Has any one ever written a short book?

Yes, I have. (Iit's called a novella).

My only tip is keep writing, every single day. I'm a full time student, cross-country runner, and tracker (if spell check says it exists it must be real) and I still manage to squeeze in writing.

Set aside a little time every day to write with a word-count goal- how many words you want your novella to be. Anything over 40,000 words is a novel, anything below is a novella or short story.

Ok so you say it's just for fun right? well in that case you should really consider dowloading an app called wattpad from the android market or appstore. It's basically just a bunch of writers of all ages who post their stories up for random people to read. Depending on whether your story is a short story, one for teens, a romance novel, and so forth then that's the category it gets put in. It's really cool actually because people can comment and vote depending on how much they like what you've written. Oh and there's also the wattpad website in case u dont have an android phone or iphone/itouch..but anyways you should really look into it. I can assure you won't regret it!
