Have Lost The Combination To An Excalibure Safe

Postby Payatt » Sat Mar 21, 2015 5:40 pm

My son has always used his key to get inside his Excalibur safe.  He has the key, but at some point someone turned the dial and now he cannot open the safe without the combination and he does not remember that.

The door of the safe says Ft Worth Texas.  under that the words burglary and fire resistant safe.

We have an MFG code and the SN.  Is there a way that we can contact the company and get the original combination to open the lock?

ANSWER: Peggy,

Excalibur is not a manufacture, it is probably a model name.  There is a manufacture in Canada named Inkas that manufactures a line with the model name Xcalibur.

My first recommendation would be to check with the company your son bought the safe from to get more info about the manufacture, and to see if they have a record of the combination.

If they don't then the second step would be to check with the manufacture to see if they have a record of the combination.  Many companies have an administrative fee for record searches.

note:  The above recommendations are only good if the original combination has never been changed.

If you still can't get in, then you will need to contact a safe technician to have your safe opened.

Have Lost The Combination To An Excalibure Safe

Peggy,

While Granite Security Products is the parent corporation, they are currently doing business under the "Winchester" logo.

Granite Security Products, Inc. C/O Winchester Safes • 4801 Esco Drive • Fort Worth, Texas 76140 • Tel: 817-561-9095 • Fax: 817-478-3056

You can also contact Jason Romberg at:  [email protected] for more information.

Contact the manufacture to see if they have the original combination.  Many manufactures will not release combinations directly, they perfer to go through a distributor, or who ever sold the safe originally.

Hope this helps.
