Have You Been All Words And No Activity?

Postby devon » Wed Jan 01, 2014 12:00 am

Would you finish up all words and no action? My ideal instance is amongst my beloved Boy-In-Law. When I ask him to something, he continues about the accessories he'll do and claims tomorrow, then tomorrow becomes subsequent week, next week comes and who the heck knows when. How about the man who is wanting to assist with each other with your task and chat positive aspects a surprise about exceptional qualifications and when it boils down to it. . . he does not reneges. Nicely, he got his second to brag.

That is actually sad... not a reputation I would want to have. I'd rather guarantee significantly less and provide far more than the other way around.

Are You All Words And No Action?

Postby Gobrwy » Sat Jan 18, 2014 12:39 pm

One of my son-in-laws has a reputation for "All Talk...No Action." If he says he's going to do one thing, No one believes him any longer. Not even his closest buddies or family. You take anything he says with a grain of salt, and occasionally, he really surprises me and does one thing he says he'll do. LOL

I Say What I Mean And Mean What I Say. If I SAY I?m going to do something then I?m going to do it.  I think your son-in-law must be related to one of my son-in-laws. One year for Mothers Day, he and my daughter got me a garbage disposal of all things. He was supposed to come back the following week-end and install it for me. That was over 4 years ago. It?s now in my shed out back. Recently, I had a water leak and he said he?d come and fix it the following day. I had to call someone else for help because when he was supposed to come, he went fishing instead. Then my toilet leaked and he said he?d fix that on the week-end. Same results...he went fishing and my other son-in-law fixed it for me. Too many people can talk the talk but can?t walk the walk. I really don?t think they realize that they are building a reputation for themselves as UNTRUSTWORTHY. In my opinion, a person should say what they mean and mean what they say. Are You All Words And No Action?

Postby Ulises » Mon Feb 03, 2014 1:00 am

Nope... In fact, my words become my actions.... When I am having trouble getting going on a project, I find that if I announce I am going to do it, then I must!  I don't want to be seen as someone who doesn't do what she says I guess.  It doesn't matter who it is I say it to(except Petey... he is so forgiving I can get away with it with him... unless I don't come up with a walk I promised and then he gets me back, big time!)    When I know I should begin a series of projects(like painting all the windows) I will put paint on one and then I have to finish the rest or have everyone think I am a quitter...(my dad had a bad habit of not finishing projects and I hated that so I try not to do it)     That said, I have always heard that people are always willing to help you but only in the past or in the future but never in the present!   I try to promise only what I can deliver because I have been let down myself and I really hate it. Are You All Words And No Action?

Postby Ulysses » Mon Feb 10, 2014 7:01 am

I worked for Bell Atlantic for 29 years. During my first year, there were a lot of wrongs being committed by some management, against some of the employees. I found out about being a shop steward, and the rest  was  history.   All my life, I have campaigned for friends, family and others rights. I have come across a lot of people, that say they want things done, and found out they were all talk. I believe, in this world, there are the people that do, and the people that like to hear themselves talk.
