Having trademark in domain name?

Postby eoforwic » Fri Jul 06, 2012 2:46 am

I own a domain ***autocad dot com, i registered it 1 year ago (recently renewed it too) for to help people learning autocad. now the problem it that someone (Stephen C. Gustavson) from Donahue Gallagher Woods LLP , sent me a letter (by email) saying that having this domain is illegal (as domain contain autocad, this is trademark.. blah blah) and i should transfer it to autodesk. He said that they are lawyers of autodesk company. i am in tense what should i do? what will happen if i refuse transferring. this is my hosting primary domain name, and i don't want to loose it. (the email is not spam)

Wow you should have checked it out before starting the website, because autodesk makes money for helping the people you want to help for free. Anyway talk to them to see what are there options, and if you want to go on with this you should consult a lawyer to know exactly what are there rights and what are yours.
Wish you good luck :D
