The parent might as well move him to another school.  That child will hear how he was voted out from now through high school unless some very high powered intervention takes place immediately.   Shall we have an essay contest and vote this teacher out survivor style? Would a loss of her teaching certification and hefty monetary damages make an impression on her?  No amount of money is going to erase this incident from the minds of the autistic child or the other children in the class. If this happened to either of our children................ We would be horrified!!! What possessed the teacher to do an assignment like that?? How would she like it if the class voted her out and went to the principal and said our assignment was to vote someone out like on the show Survivor so we voted out the teacher and we won't go back to her class!!!   First off, this little boy is autistic, so he probably doesn't feel real comfortable in the class to begin with, and then to separate him from the others and make him feel like he is less, unbelievable!!!   If this was our son and this happened I would be suing the school district!! Starting with the teacher, then the principal and all the way to the district office. I would not let this die down until the teacher offered an apology to our son and then the district fired her and removed her teaching certificate. I would not let this women teach in another school or state. Her career as a teacher would be over.   She is not worthy to be a teacher in today's society. I know that it can be tough to be a teacher and I would not make a good one. We had simple issues with our son at school this year with his teacher but never something as serious as voting out another student!   I can only imagine that this child's parent's are beside themselves, I feel really sorry for this little boy and his family. I'm guessing that this child that has autism must not be that bad or else he would be in special ed classes, so to have him mainstreamed into the regular class is awesome!!!!!!   It will be interesting to see what happens with this teacher and the school that the little boy attends, I hope that it will all work out ok for the little guy. Here he is just wanting to go to school and learn and be with his friends and then to be ridiculed like that just blows my mind!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!   Our son is 9 and just finished the third grade the OK peer pressure that he felt this year was unbelievable, I figured that we had a few more years before that started, but we are guessing that this kind of pressure is starting younger and younger, lucky this little guy was only in kindergarten could you imagine what it would do to a older child??? If that was me, I would be wrecked for a long time, I would probably find myself in counseling and how sad is that?????????????   Ok, enough I have put my two cents in on the matter and I can't wait to see what the outcome of this will be.
