Help! Caught shoplifting? ?

Postby achimelech51 » Mon Jul 16, 2012 9:36 am

I was caught shoplifting today. It was 30$ worth of clothing- a bathing suit bottom and a tank top. I'm 18 years old. I'm so scared. I have no idea when I have to go to court-but I'm going to college this falls and scared schedules will conflict. The best I could hope for would be a PBJ. How do I go about asking for that? Other than this, I have a completely clean record. No speeding tickets or anything. I am truly remorseful and hoping for the best. Any guesses on what kind of sentence I would get?

Thieves should get the death penalty. It pisses me off when people take things that aren't theirs.

You mean you were PLANNING on going to college in the fall.

I doubt you will get a PBJ. Although it is a very popular sandwich, punishments for shoplifting are rather more harsh.

Most criminals hire lawyers when they are caught. I suggest you consider this avenue.

Shouldn't have stole. Next time, think logically and pay for your items.

Take a deep breath calm down it's not the end of the world I had the same thing happen to me when I was 20. I went into court. They asked me if I wanted a public defender I said no and defended my self. when the judge asked me what I was pleading I said guilty. Then he gave me a small fine and that was it. No probation no jail. So calm do relax it's not a good situation but it could be much worse. I don't recommend you skipping the public defender though I would take a lawyer in your case try to get some sort of court diversion if you can it will come off your record. Try to ask if there's any way you can get it off your record. ALSO try praying to God he'll help you. Good luck

Start calling Lawyers many offer free consultations, get as many as you can. Ask about options like ACD or diversion
