HELP Is it legal to mess around with this girl!?

Shes 14, i'm 16, i live in kentucky i read something online that says if she is 14 or younger it is second degree sexual assault which is a class A misdomeaner and means that i will have to register as a sex offender possibly, then i found this pdf file http://www.lrc.ky.gov/krs/510-00/120.PDF and it is recent revision to the law, but i cant understand what it means exactly, the way they worded it is confusing, can someone help decipher what its saying. Basically, is it legal to mess around with a girl who is 14, consensually if I am 16?

Well, Kentucky has weird laws. And, If she doesn't tell the cops, your all good.

I live in texas and here if your ovrr 18 its illegal to date an underage female or male but idk kentucky what is the age but yuur barely 16 here in texas is fine

Wow u went looking for laws and regs.? Were u planning on abusing her or something? Though it is possible for u to get into trouble of she decides to say anything

It shouldn't be.

The PDF file, assuming it's accurate, up-to-date, and truthful, says that sexual abuse in the second degree happens only when one person is between the ages of 18 and 21, and the other is below the age of 16. That is subsection (1)(b). The other two really wouldn't apply to you, unless you're dating someone mentally disabled and take advantage of her.

You're fine. It's legal.
