Help with few sentences?

Postby norwyn » Wed Jul 25, 2012 1:06 am

I do not understand this paragraph, so can someone please paraphrase it for me so I can understand it better. Thanks.

The Constitution establishes nothing that interferes with equality and individuality. It
knows nothing of differences by descent, or opinions, of favored classes, or legalized religion,
or the political power of property. It leaves the individual alongside of the individual. ... As
the sea is made up of drops, American society is composed of separate, free, and constantly
moving atoms, ever in reciprocal action ... so that the institutions and laws of the country
rise out of the masses of individual thought which, like the waters of the ocean, are rolling
evermore.

Help with few sentences?

The Constitution has nothing to do with equality and individuality of people. It has nothing to do with the peoples lifestyles, beliefs, opinions, etc. The Constituion leaves the individual along side itself (meaning that it leaves everybody just as they are and nothing to try and change them and it let's everyone be who they are without discrimination) and American society has lot's of discrimination and people who want fair and equal rights.......... I hope i got it right
