Yes, they should change the law, sooner the better. Horses when trained can be a most reliable friend. One doesn't hear much about this. I live in Canada, west coast, and was unaware of horses being processed here north of the border, and very sad to learn of it.   One thing is, I'd like to suggest:   http://www.thepetitionsite.com/create-online-petition   ... you can create a PETITION in www.care2.com where they have ongoing petitions for hundreds of worthy causes, environmental and animal. There's little to be done to stop the sales to Mexico. Since the European market for horse meat is strong and the slaughter houses are mostly in Mexico and owned by European companies, according to the link, it would seem to be almost a world problem, involving the U.S., Mexico, and European importers. Where's PETA when you want them?
