You left an critical option off your list:  Agnostic.   Agnostics think that God is unknowable and humanity cannot learn the accurate nature of any religion -- or if there even is a single.   It sounds like you may be contemplating this currently.  -)

Of course the adherents of each faith will tell you they are the one true religion, and probably none of them are.   I recommend reading Dawkins, "God is not Great".   BTW, Atheism is not a belief; it's a lack of belief.

How Can All World Religions Be Equally True (or False) When Their Major Teachings Contradict Each Other?

The main reason people choose to subscribe to any particular religion is because they are afraid of death. The idea that death is the end of your life and there is nothing else is very scary and harder for some to grasp than the idea of a mystical deity. When you are at a relatives funeral and a small child looks up at you and asks "is mommy in heaven?" would you find it easier to say "yes she is up in heaven and very happy" or to respond "mommy is dead and gone and there is no spirit world, she's just dead"   So I think that religion was largely created as a way to cope with these types of questions and thousands of years ago when science itself was a new idea that most people did not know about it was very easy to spread religious beliefs.     Sources: My 2 cents. whocares000 49 months ago Please sign in to give a compliment. Here are two statements that contradict each other, yet are equally false:   All oranges are blue. All oranges are purple.   So that is how, logically, religions can all be equally false.   btw: Probably, atheists(or even secular humanists) would not agree with your description of their beliefs as a "religion."
