How can I protect myself against my wife?

My wife is very aggressive, we have a five years old diabetic child. My wife has hit me hard with a stick and a belt in the past. We sleep in separated rooms. Still she uses profane language. She wants me out of the house even thought I purchased this home myself. I know that I have to do legally
move fast. What should be my first step. I do not want to do any harms to her? But, I have to protect myself. Any free or cheap legal aid in Miami Dade County?

She will get it all unless you start to report her behaviour to the police.

See a lawyer immediately .... or firstly (and least expensive) stimulate a situation where your wife will use a weapon to strike you, and report to the police immediately. This will guarantee at least you keep the home and custody.

Sounds like she could be a danger to you and the child. You need to call the police to get this abuse documented and get out asap!
