How do you report a postmaster ignoring labor laws?

My friend works at a post office. He delivered a package that the person claims they never received. The package was uninsured and had no coverage, signature or delivery confirmation, nothing. The postmaster received a complaint from the addressee claiming they never received the package. The postmaster then made my friend drive back to the addressee's house and give them back the money for the package out of his own pocket, cash, on the basis that if he didn't do this, he would be fired. It was around $160, which was the amount told to my friend by the addressee, so who knows how much it was really worth.

How does one report something like this, and how would you go about proving it?

Your friend needs to talk to his union shop steward. There were no labor laws that were broken. However, the postmaster was wrong to force your friend to pay for the package. The customer should have contacted the sender so the sender could file a claim (if the package was insured) or a tracer on the package.

sorry going to call bs on this one...even TE's are covered by the union and NO postmaster would risk his job in this manner..............

So he should contact his union rep, his local supervisor [the guy above the post master in that section] etc etc...........

again going to call utter bs on this one.

Contact the postmaster general in your city and report it.
