Will a lot more states enact strictor enforcement to drive the illegals out of their states since the US governement refuses to do it really is job? Will stricter enforcement by states be evident at the borders?

Whilst I agree we need to tighten up on immigration laws and they need intelligent thought. Your suggestions are not quite good when it comes to minority issues.   Max20characters 20 months ago

"How about implanting a transmitter that can be extracted when they leave? "Do you know how much income the US gets from Tourism? Can you imagine how the tourism business would respond to that suggestion. We already are thought of as a bunch of fascists by other countries - that would put the icing on the cake. Holy crow. And I don't trust cops not to abuse Hispanic people to test their new found powers. These are often people on a precipice who could go either way and they aren't paid very much. I've seen them behave like Gestapo on many occasions. Ask some prominent black professionals if profiling exists.   Max20characters 20 months ago

I admire Arizona for taking a stand. More people than you know are on their side in this.   LouLou 20 months ago

I hope so. We have close friends in Tucson, and the situation just south of there is horrendous. Tucson isn't exactly swimming in wealth, either, due to the illegal immigrant problem. All that being said, if you think about it, only a couple of generations ago, there was no such thing as illegal immigration. My grandfather came here from England when he was fourteen, after his mother died. There were no restrictions then, even on age! So I understand the desire of immigrants to seek better for themselves; but a big part of the problem is that our government gives them so much free this and that -- so it's like we are inviting them in and then hating them for being here. There needs to be a whole change, not just a border change.   tuppence 20 months ago
