Arizona and other border states have sued the US Government unsuccessfully regarding their desire to enforce US Immigration Laws. The one provision that was upheld by the Supreme Court was that local authorities would still be able to check the immigration status of those questioned on other violations. This provision, referred to as the "papers, please" provision was criticized, and immediately and summarily blocked by President Obama.

Naturally, Arizona officials are being called "racists" and "Xenophobes", because that's what we do in this country.
I was interested to see an article today that talked about how the TSA has allowed 25 illegal aliens to attend flight school in the Boston area - and that the school itself is being run by an illegal alien as well.

I don't think it was too long ago that this country, reeling from the destruction of the World Trade Center, was shocked and appalled that Mohammaed Atta and his friends were able to obtain the very training that enabled them to fly those planes into those buildings in US flight schools, on US soil.
Rep. Mike Rogers (R.-Ala.), chairman of the House Homeland Security Subcommittee on Transportation Security, said he found the GAO's findings "amazing." - to paraphrase his comments, "We have Nobel Prize winners, Iraq War Veterans, and cancer patients going through rigorous scrutiny before they can get on a plane - but we cannot guarantee that the plane they will be flying on is not being piloted by someone in this country illegally".
I think that the most interesting part of this article is that this whole school, this whole training program, was uncovered by LOCAL POLICE, when they stopped one of the students for a traffic violation and saw that he was in this country illegally.
Do you think we should just ignore this, like we ignore what's going on in Arizona? Am I being a racist or a Xenophobe here if I say that we need to be a little less cavalier about illegal aliens in this country, and that we should absolutely let our local police be a "first line defense" of this kind of activity? Do you think I have a point? Do you think that Obama should reconsider his stance on what local police are doing and are able to do?
Frankly - and I think this is the part of my comment that will get me a lot of thumbs-down or even blocked. I think that MEXICAN illegal immigrants are OK with Obama - for the single reason that there are many Mexican families in this country legally, and that Obama counts these people among his voters. If he turns a blind eye to the constant flow of illegals crossing the border in Arizona, Texas, California and New Mexico, he is bolstering his support - even if it means increased drug trafficking and crime. If the incident in Massachusetts is being run by Canadians, Irish, Europeans or anyone else but Mexicans, this is a political opportunity for him to make a show of a strong stance for Immigration Reform.
What's your opinion?
