Wow, I'm amazed at how naive a lot of conservative radio fans are. How long ago was this 'awful' McDonald's incident? (Bet you never checked into that case and found out how bad McDonalds was at making coffee--you went straight for the lawyer joke. Coffee is served at 160 degrees--serve it hotter than candle wax, you could hurt someone.) Since you haven't heard of another supposedly frivolous case like this since, then obviously Obama and the liberals have cleaned up all those frivolous suits.
Or you could quit believing the hype. There aren't too many people out there getting rich off of lawsuits. You can certainly go sue someone in court for ridiculous stuff like that, and you'll wind up losing, feeling stupid, and a good bit poorer for trying. The ones trying to convince you that there are frivolous lawsuits driving up costs for everyone are trying to get themselves above the law--they want to be able to sue you for failing to pay your bills, but want to make it impossible for you to sue them for failing to deliver their side of the contract. Once you cons figure that out, you won't get conned by that nonsense anymore--they'll have to find some other insignificant issue to harp on. If we don't hold corporations to the same standards we hold people to, then what? Should people become as amoral as corporations? Or do corporations need to fulfill their responsibilities or get sued--just like the rest of us do?
