How many lives might have been saved if just 1 Law Abiding citizen shot the Aurora criminal?

Postby jabarl » Thu Jul 26, 2012 12:22 pm

Already we are seeing anti-gun advocates and liberal Hollywood icons attacking the Second Amendment from every corner, each calling for greater gun control. It’s deeply unfortunate that none of the moviegoers attending that premier of The Dark Knight Rising were packing a legally permitted concealed weapon.

God only knows how many lives one armed law-abiding citizen may have saved.

But if the gun laws were firmer the shooter would not have been able to get a gun in the first place, nobody would have died.

And who knows how quickly the shooter would have shot the attempted hero. We just don't know these things.

Difficult to say...but having an armed citizenry does level the playing field against wackjobs who wish to do people great bodily harm...

Agreed,
The lets roll attitude was missing from the batman movie which is too bad because that state did give people the right to carry a concealed weapon.

Aurora CO has very strict gun laws. The theater even has a sign that no guns are allowed, not even those on a state issued CCP. Aurora requires any gun within the city limits to be unloaded and only a law enforcement officer is allowed to ever discharge a weapon.
Hmmm, so with a population completely disarmed, why were so many recently killed by gunfire? Maybe strict gun control laws make us all sitting ducks.

In the UK, I would rather watch a Cowboy and Indian film, rather than sit in a shoot out. What are you suggesting to the rest of the world?

Up until that moment , of course, the shooter himself had been a law abiding citizen.

Imagine what would have happened had this particular law abiding citizen not owned an arsenal of weapons --- nothing .
And the world would never have even heard of Aurora.
