How to become a gymnastics coach?

Postby sonny » Mon Jul 09, 2012 5:46 pm

Next year i will have just left school and i want to get a personal trainer and take up gymnastics.
My main goal is to master the rings-not generally a female apparatus but still..
Anyway its mostly to get fitter, stronger and gain skills so the next year after i can become a PT myself but then i want to move into the gymnastics instructor/coach area.
The PT is mostly for my own benefits, a foundation for coaching and for something to fall back on.
From there though, how do i become a gymnastics coach? Is there a school or specific courses to take in the area of gymnastics or is it more about working with an already qualified coach?
Will i need a working with children certificate if im more concerntrated on training youth/older age groups?
Will it benefit me in already having done basic first aid and injury prevention for the courses?
Should i be doing this next year straight after school or will i benefit more from my plan of taking a year off to train myself?
