How to convince my patents it's safe to buy a motorcycle?

I've been wanting a bike since last summer so this past winter I've been working at my local gorocery store to save up for a bike, I have a little more than 5k right mow (i want yamaha r6,I drive a clutch and have riden b4 so Im pretty sure I can handle it). I'm 18 so I can buy it if I have the cash (I don't want to finance nor can I) and my situation is my mom says no but if I pay for everything bike, insurance, and maintance it's okay to keep the bike and most Importantly myself in my house... But my dad is totally against it he thinks I'm 100% going to die on it. I know I'm going to fall here and there (its almost inevetable) but if I'm responsible I'm not going to put my self in a deadly situation. I know I can legally buy a bike but I just want to make my parents to be happy/ know I will be okay. (I currently have my M class permit and am planning on taking the motorcycle safety course to get my license not the DMV test.)
