How to get out of paying a traffic ticket?

Ok I am unemployed and have zero money.The tickets 240 bucks and the judge today said I could do community service to pay it off.But he lied about that because when I went to the payment place in the court house they said only handicaped and old people could do it.So they told me I had to get a job and gave me a sheet I had to fill listing 5 places that I applied for work and I have to bring it back in 2 weeks.I think if none of them hire me I will have to repeat the same proccess over again! I just want to do community service to get out of paying the ticket.Is there anyway I can do that? I am willing to work in the heat outside in 110 degree temps so dont call me a bum.

Check if your jurisdiction allows you to go to jail instead of paying the fine, many do. You'll get credit of about $50 for each day in jail.
