How to get statements from 10 years ago for a mutual fund?

Postby chay » Thu Mar 31, 2011 11:10 am

Invesco Mutual Fund has a class action lawsuit whose claim form requires one to enter the number of shares held at year end from 1999-2003. I no longer have the paperwork on the fund as it was sold, and the paperwork kept for 7 years and then shredded. Does anyone have an idea how to go about finding that information from 10 years ago?

Contact the fund and see if they still have those records. Or look on your tax returns if you still have them.

Only from the mutual fund company if they will provide it.

It depends upon how you purchased the fund shares:

If it was through an employer sponsored retirement account (like a 401K or a 503B) contact the plan administrator. They should have the records.

If it was purchased through an IRA or a brokerage account, contact the broker that the account was with. They should have the records.

If you purchased it directly from the mutual fund company, contact the mutual fund company. They should have the records.
